You've spent years showing up for everyone else. This is five days for you.
The Hive Escape
A luxury wellness retreat in Bali, created exclusively for nurses and midwives who are ready to stop running on empty.
Tell me more
If you're reading this, you probably already know.
You're not weak. You're not failing. You're a nurse and you've been running on a system that asks everything of you and replenishes almost nothing.
The emotional weight of it. The mental load that doesn't switch off when the shift ends. The version of yourself you used to recognise, that somewhere along the way got buried under handover notes and other people's needs.
You might be experiencing:
The exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix
Going through the motions at work when you used to genuinely care
A creeping feeling that if something doesn't change, you won't last another year
Giving your best self to patients and your worst self to everyone else, including you
Knowing you need something, but not giving yourself permission to have it
What you're feeling is not weakness. It's what happens when someone as capable and committed as you goes too long without being cared for herself.
Nurse of the Year 2020 · Nursing Director of the Year 2023 · Nursing Leader of the Year Nominee 2024
I built this retreat because I needed it and it didn't exist.
My name is Lisa Lucas. I've spent more than 25 years in nursing emergency, surgical, oncology, cardiology. I know what it costs to care for people at that level, day after day, for years.
I also know what it feels like to sit in a hospital car park and not be able to make yourself go in. Not because you don't love the work but because there's simply nothing left.
I created The Hive Escape for the nurse I was in that car park. The one who had given everything and didn't have a single structured, evidence-informed space designed for her recovery.
I'm an award-winning nurse leader and the CEO of The Hive Nursing Development. But none of that matters as much as this: I have walked the exact path you're on, and I designed every element of this retreat from inside that experience, not looking at it from the outside.
What nurses say after five days at The Hive Retreat.
"I came in running on empty and left with something I didn't know I'd lost, clarity about who I am as a nurse and what I actually need. I didn't expect it to be this profound."
Tiffany, Registered Nurse, QLD
"This was an amazing experience. The accommodation and food were outstanding. The course content was life changing. Providing clarity and guidance. Thank you so much. What an amazing week spent with amazing nurses"
Deb, Nurse Practitioner, QLD
"Lisa understands this profession from the inside. The workshops weren't generic wellness content, they were designed for how nurses actually think and feel. That made all the difference."
Kirri, Nurse Educator, QLD

If you built this experience yourself, accommodation, spa, facilitated workshops, CPD, meals, transfers, you'd invest between $5,500 and $8,000, plus weeks of coordination. The Hive Escape packages all of it, at a lower total, with nothing left for you to organise.
Questions you might be sitting with.…
Q: Can I actually justify spending this on myself?
A: The cost of nursing burnout, in sick leave, reduced performance, and early departure from the profession, averages $50,000–$80,000 per nurse. Relative to what it prevents, this is one of the most financially rational decisions you can make. And the CPD hours mean it's also a legitimate professional investment.
Q: What if I can't take the time off work?
A: The retreat runs 1–6 June 2026. Many nurses plan leave around this period. If your workplace supports professional development leave for a 15-hour CPD-structured program, that's worth a conversation with your manager and we can provide documentation to support that request.
Q: I'm worried it won't actually make a difference.
A: Read the testimonials above. These are nurses who felt exactly what you're feeling now. The difference between a generic wellness weekend and The Hive Escape is that this was designed from inside the clinical and emotional experience of nursing not built by someone looking at it from the outside.
Q: Can I come with a friend?
A: Yes. Twin share rooms have one queen bed per room. If you'd like to share with a friend, both participants register separately and rooms can be arranged accordingly.
This retreat is limited to 10 participants. No waitlist.
When it's full, it's full. The small group size is intentional, it's what makes the experience what it is. If you've read this far, something in you is already saying yes.
The next step isn't a commitment. It's a conversation.
